●  Beta, Gamma Radiation Survey

●  Digital Display

●  Splash-proof Buttons

●  GM Pancake Detector

The Ludlum Model 78-9 Stretch Scope telescoping beta-gamma radiation survey meter allows the user to determine surface activity from a distance and reaches areas that are difficult to access with other hand probes. The radiation detector employed is Ludlum's Model 44-9-21 and is removable from the pole which extends out to 12 ft (3.6 m). A thumbscrew at the end of the pole firmly attaches the detector into place. The backlit digital LCD delivers precise 4-digit measurement values, which can be programmed to display units of cps or µSv/h, and is accompanied by icons and messages for operational status of the instrument. This instrument does not incorporate an analog meter as do many of the other Ludlum Model 78 series stretch scopes. The front-panel controls include separate switches for On/Off, Audio, cps/µSv/h, Fast/Slow response, and LCD backlight.
