Introduction |
Shieldwerx
provides state-of-the-art neutron and gamma radiation shielding products, custom
design and fabrication of shielding materials, and neutron activation foils, to
the nuclear power and nuclear medicine industries, and accelerator research
facilities. Their staff has more than 40-years experience in designing and
producing shielding products, and are responsive to every request. They produce
quality products, in a timely manner, and adapt to the ever-changing industry
needs with new and innovative solutions.
Bladewerx began operation in 2001 and began designing and manufacturing neutron and gamma radiation shielding products under the Shieldwerx trade name early in 2006. They have supplied materials to the DOE laboratories, manufacturers of security products, as well as accelerator research facilities in the United States and throughout the world.

Unique problems often require unique solutions. While most of their shielding products can be cut to size, or shaped using conventional woodworking tools, some solutions require special molds or material shapes not easily made from sheets or rods. Their CAD designers and machine shop can produce custom molds that allow material casting to customer specifications, or allow milling or turning of most of their polyethylene-based neutron/gamma radiation shielding materials.
